NEW CATEGORIES AND UPDATES

To motivate and drive the development of the political consulting industry, we have created new categories and modified some existing:

  1. [new] Political Publication of the Year. This award recognizes the contribution that these media provide to the political community of the region through the quality of information, guidance articles, educational content and entertainment.
  2. [new] Campaign of the Year, This award was created to recognize talent in design and direction comprehensive work and achievements of an election campaign as a product of teamwork.
  3. [updated] We modified the Professor of The Year category, which was decided last year by popular vote on Facebook, by Merit for Excellence in Teaching to recognize outstanding merits in their academic activity or that have developed any initiative or project worthy of recognition.
  4. [updated] The emerging Leader category left us with a very special impression in previous editions, so we decided to expand the number of awards for 10 leaders under the age of 30, where there will be a winner for each gender (male and female) and 8 finalists (4 of each genre).
  5. [updated]. We expanded the status of Revelation Consultant and created an award for men and one for women.
  6. [updated] We replaced the Facebook Policy Page of the Year category with Social Media Strategy of the Year because we believe that the growth of social media warrants the expansion of this award, beyond a single social network.

The #VictoryAwards awarded the best professionals of 2013 – #VAC14

WASHINGTON D.C.- Political Marketing on the Network awarded on Saturday, March 8, 2014, the golden statuettes of the Victory Awards to political consulting professionals highlighted for excellence in 2013. The Awards Gala took place at the Hilton hotel in Arlington, Virginia and brought together eminent Spanish-speaking industry figures as well as authorities from Latin American countries.

Mexico was the most represented country among the awardees, receiving several of the most important awards as Consultant of the Year. Venezuela’s teaching was also very present in the thank-you speeches of many winners, who expressed their regret at recent events in time to reaffirm their commitment to the democratic system.

“In Venezuela there are some who want only ones to speak, which goes against our business (political communication), we want there to be many voices and they can be expressed freely,” said Carlos Souto, winner of the star of the night award, the Victory Award for the campaign of the year. In this same sense was uttered one of the winners, José Luis Sanchis. “Our commitment to the democratic process is total,” said the dean of political consultancy in Spain, collecting his award for a whole career. Sanchis spoke with knowledge of cause having been communications adviser to Adolfo Suárez at the dawn of contemporary democracy in Spain.

Twelve young Latin Americans and Spaniards were recognized as “Emerging Leaders”. The award finally worn by Jorge Santiago Avila recognized the work of all the leaders under the age of 30 nominated, a massive selfie and good atmosphere included. In one of the most emotional moments of the gala, Martha Napolitan collected the second of the honorary Victorys bestowed on her father, Jose Napolitan, who was given a warm and sincere posttumal tribute. Napolitan is considered the founder of political consulting and was campaign director to presidents such as John F. Kennedy and other great political figures of the 20th century.

Frenchman Michel Bongard was also honored with an honorary Victory on a night where there was no shortage of laughter, tears of emotion and atmosphere of camaraderie. The Spanish journalist Juan diego Sánchez served as master of ceremonies of the third edition of the Victory Awards. These awards, whose gala was sponsored by companies such as Online Strategy, Bypower Group or Memo Rentería, have become a must-see for Spanish-speaking political consulting professionals, as was seen last Saturday following the success of the gala’s hearing and the large number of nominations in all categories
